At Oatley Public School, students engage in a broad range of learning across all key subject areas, including English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Human Society and Its Environment, Creative Arts, and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education. Technology is embedded into everyday learning to support creativity, collaboration and deeper understanding. We also focus on developing the 4Cs, including communication, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking, to help students become confident and capable learners.

At Oatley Public School, students can take part in special religious education (SRE) or special education in ethics (SEE) classes, depending on what’s available. These classes are delivered by approved providers.
When enrolling your child, you’ll be able to choose an option from the approved providers offered at our school. Students not attending SRE or SEE are given supervised alternative meaningful activities.

- Greek Orthodox

Combined Christian
This is a combined group of churches within the local area. All of these organisations are on the Department of Education's list of approved providers. Additional details of the program, the scope and sequence for this curriculum are available here Curriculum.
Special religious education (SRE) is education in the beliefs and practices of an approved religious persuasion. Under the Education Act 1990, section 32, government schools allow time for special religious education. It is delivered by authorised representatives of approved religious groups to students who have nominated that religion.

At Oatley Public School, we support high potential and gifted students by providing opportunities to extend and challenge their learning. Teachers identify students through ongoing assessment and observation, recognising strengths in areas such as creativity, leadership, problem solving and sport.

Our learning approach
Our school uses explicit teaching. This means we clearly tell students what they are learning, why it is important and how to do it step by step. Explicit teaching helps students understand new ideas by breaking them into smaller parts.
