Community involvement

Oatley Public School is proud of its caring, inclusive community. We welcome parents and carers to get involved and work with us to support every child's learning and wellbeing. You can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at school.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and community members who support school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering — working in partnership with the school to promote its interests. Joining is a great way to meet other families, get involved and help shape our school's future. We'd love to have you on board!

The P&C raises funds through events and fundraising, brings parents, students and staff together to support the school's interests, and helps provide facilities and equipment for student welfare and recreation. It also advises on school maintenance needs, supports staff with school events, and assists with other matters as requested by the Minister.

Join our P&C

Requirement: To join our OPS P&C, you must be parents or guardians of students attending Oatley Public School or citizens within the Oatley school community.

There will be a $6 registration fee. The fees are a mandatory government requirement and will be used to support student education programs.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• helping in the canteen
• getting involved in the P&C
• listening to children read in the classroom
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
• helping supervise excursions.

Get in touch to find out how you can help! You will need to completed a Working With Children declaration form and provide 100 points of identification to our office staff.
